WHAT WE OFFER
The WVKC offers to its members and to the general public classes in
Obedience, Rally and Conformation Show Handling.
COMMUNITY SERVICES
Our club gets involved with all legislation involving dogs. Some of
our members and their dogs visit rest homes and similar facilities.
We offer a Breed Referral Service to the community providing
information on buying a puppy, finding breeders, and other information
on dogs.
MONTHLY MEETINGS
Our monthly general meetings are normally held on the second Thursday of each
month at the Wayne G Sanborn Activities on S. Alabama Ave, Deland
We have a Christmas Party in December and have an annual picnic in the summer.
Our meetings begin at 7:30 PM followed by a
dog-related program by either a member or a guest.
FACILITIES
Beginning on September 2nd, 2009 all of our training and conformation classes will take place at the Deland Armory located at 401 S. Alabama. Ave. DeLand. All classes will take place indoors with air conditioning and/or heating and have outdoors access if needed.
We will still enjoy and continue to have special activities on our club's property located on Matt Fair Blvd at the Sperling Sports Center off of Marsh Rd., Deland.
The property is over three beautiful fenced in acres which maybe leased
to an individual, organization or club for an event etc.

The WVKC enjoys a rich history since it's establishment in 1974 and is devoted to
the betterment of the purebred dog. Our primary goals are to protect and advance the interests of all breeds of purebred dogs and to promote responsible pet ownership throughout our community. Our members are interested pet owners, breeders and exhibitors of conformation, obedience, rally and other competitive dog sports.
The West Volusia Kennel Club is a member club of the American Kennel Club.

WHAT WE DO
The WVKC holds their annual two day All-Breed Dog Show in October at the Volusia County Fairgrounds. We hold a Sanctioned Fun Match in November. We also hold a two day Obedience/Rally Trial in February at our Training Field located in Deland. This year we will honor Responsible Dog Owners Day on September 17th. Canine Good Citizen Tests are offered throughout the year.

Our club is providing the necessary supplies to the handicapped recipient of a service dog through New Horizons Service Dogs.
We are also very pround to announce that our club is sponsoring a puppy from the New Horizons Service Dogs Puppy Raiser Program. Our club member, Marilyn Kudlets is raising the puppy. Great job Marilyn!
